The last four years have seen unprecedented growth for the University of St Andrews Basketball Club. The teams compete at some of the highest level of Scottish University Basketball and each year are building a stronger and more competitive programme.

The Women’s 1sts Basketball Team is one of the University’s high performance teams, having seen much progress and achievement in recent years. The team will be competing in BUCS Scottish Division 1A in the coming season. Last season, the women’s team competed in the BUCS Premier Division having won BUCS Scottish Division 1A in 2015-2016 and won Division 2A in season 2012-2013. The Women’s Team also plays in the Scottish National League and the programme is run by head coach Callum Knox.

We are excited to say that this coming year we have a 2nds team being entered into BUCS Scottish Division 3A which will allow us to accommodate more players and act as a stepping stone into a more competitive environment. For those who are interested in playing recreationally and just for fun we also run a weekly club session.

The Men’s Basketball Team runs as two competitive teams playing in both the BUCS Division 2A and 4A. The teams also play in the Tayside and Fife Regional League. The primary focus for both the first and second team is to progress up to higher levels of BUCS competition; the men’s teams are run by head coach Ross Bain.

The men’s team also have a weekly club session which we encourage anyone to come along to and have some fun.
